Borderfall
Every border is temporary.
Borderfall is turn-based territory strategy that runs in your browser. Reinforce, attack across a border, settle it with dice, fortify, pass the turn. A turn cycle Risk players already know.
The difference is that one game doesn't stay in one age. Your civilization climbs through nine eras, from ancient legions to a galactic frontier, and the rules of war change underneath you: new units, new technologies, naval theatres and eventually orbital ones. A campaign can open with spears on a classical map and close with fleets contesting the stars.
Play free at borderfall.gg - There's no download, no install, no account.
- 1–8 players. Solo against AI from Easy to Expert, friends in a private lobby, or matched strangers.
- Real-time or asynchronous. Take turns over hours and days if your group is spread across timezones. ~15-20 minutes for a typical solo game. The Daily Challenge is shorter.
- Any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, desktop or phone. Installs to your home screen as a PWA if you want it.
- Free. No purchase required to play any mode. Guest play starts immediately; an account is free and saves progress, rank and rewards across devices.
It's a browser game, not a client. There's no Steam release and no native desktop app. Human multiplayer depends on other people being online, so at 3am the AI is the reliable opponent. And it isn't Risk: the board, the eras and the victory conditions are its own.
